Okay, heres the basic infos!

Originally I had planned on doing paid private photo-shoots at both of these conventions.  As it stands right now, I do not think I am in a good enough position to do that this time around.  I've been having my summer issues with my left knee once again.  I can still walk around and what not just fine.  I just cant do as much crazy stuff, like jumping around into trees and climbing on stuff and what not.  I'm just slowed down by this, but that wont stop me from having an awesomely damn good time at both cons!

I will still be doing photo-shoots at both conventions, however they will be on a restricted basis!  All I ask in return is lunch, a drink, or a good laugh.    

Ya'see, I don't want to push myself at all, which may make things worse with my knee.  I don't want to be forced to keep a strict photo-shoot schedule due to paying customers.  Instead, I'll focus more on more detailed and artistic shoots with friends (both those I've met before, and others I've only seen online).  

I still feel bad about NDK last year.  I was in quite a bit of pain, and it affected me more emotional than anything else.  It brought me down, which in tern made me less socialable with all the new people I was meeting in Denver, as well as bringing down the average quality of my photography.  This year around though, I have the right mix of a nice quality knee brace and decent pain medication.  I'm hoping that those of you who met me in person at NDK last year don't judge my personality based on that one weekend encounter.  Things are a hell of a lot more awesome nowadays!!!

I do other random crap besides cosplay photography... So, I think its about time I start spamming other crap here instead of just that.  Yeah, I know 99% of my watchers all watch just for cosplay crap, but oh well, I wanna post other crap damnit!


OKAY!!!  To my suprise, people seem to actually like my random and arbitrary non-cosplay-crap better then my awesomely super perfectly great cosplay photos...  So, I guess I should mention that I have quite a bit larger of a collection of non-cosplay stuff besides the samples posted here to my dA.

Lada-Con, Anime Evolution, Kumoricon

Firstly, Lada-Con was a small coslay gathering thrown in Seattle, Washington.  Good times were had, and photos are available here: [link] [link]

Next, Anime Evolution....  Convention overall wasnt that great this year.  I didnt like the location one bit.  I had some camera equipment break on me.  Photos will be up soon.  New location next year will be much better: Vancouver Convention Center.

Lastly, KUMORICON!!!  The con is coming up this weekend.  I'll be there doing photoshoots.  If you would like to get some photos done by me, send me a note with your cosplay schedule and I will try to work it into mine!!

GasuKan 4 photos are now up!  This was the largest turn-out we've ever had.  Quick estimates on photographers + cosplayers + friends was in the neighborhood of 70 people.  The next GasuKan gathering probably wont take place until late April or sometime in May.

GasuKan 5 photos are now up too!  With an estimated attendee count around 100, the group is constantly growing.

GasuKan 7 - Its just around the corner!! erm, I think?  We're still working out the details of where/when this event will take place.

Hey all, I'm Darkain.

For starters, I'd just like to say that I probably wont ever do any real updates to this journal, because I would rather post on my LiveJournal account.

For all of you techies out there, I have an enhanced RSS feed with embedded images for this deviantArt account.  For some of you, this is easier then constantly checking deviantArt, so thats why I set it up.

If you wish for the latest images to appear on your LiveJournal Friends Page, simply add darkain_photos to your Friends List.  Its really that simple.
